The Domain Name System (DNS) is a hierarchical distributed naming system for computers, services, or any resource connected to the Internet or a private network. It associates various information with domain names assigned to each of the participating entities.
Domains play a key role when it comes to hosting a website over the web world and thus managing the DNS records for a particular domain manually can prove to be extremely tedious at times. Pointing domains to a particular IP includes adding an "A", "AAAA", CNAME", etc record to the zone file of the particular domains so as to get it live and pointing to the respective IP.
